Appetite for Life Academy
In addition to research, the Nutrition Research Institute is committed to community outreach. Through its Appetite for Life Academy, the NRI shares with the public the latest nutrition research of some of the most respected names in the field.
The 2009 Appetite for Life Academy in February brought the latest scientific and public health research to the general public in a series of lectures. Leading experts in nutrition and public health presented an array of topics ranging from the mysteries of metabolism to the emerging problem of global obesity attracted more than 400 participants -- many visiting the Campus for the first time.

A Tasty Partnership
The NRI’s outreach is extending beyond the lecture hall into the kitchen. A partnership with Johnson & Wales University is allowing us to combine cutting-edge nutrition research with the highest caliber cooking instruction in some Appetite for Life events. Look for NRI nutrition experts at some Johnson & Wales Chef’s Choice cooking classes, and look for JWU chefs at the NRI for special cooking demonstrations.
